What many people do not know is that the Imperial Boathouse, amongst other events, regularly participates in Charity fund-raising events on Koh Samui, opens its doors to the underprivileged children, and  is heavily involved in creating awareness within the local community and schools of the importance of recycling and energy conservation.  The Imperial Boathouse has been recognized and visited by the prime-minister of Thailand, Mr. Abhisit,  has received numerous awards and accolades, and works together with various local organizations to improve the social- and economic standard of the local community as a whole.
